Waimea Road Beach Carpark is one of several official freedom camping spots along Waikanae Beach reserved for certified self-contained vehicles. With just two parking bays available, the site provides a quiet, coastal overnight stop with easy beach access and local amenities nearby.

Located at the end of Waimea Road, directly above Waikanae Beach on the Kapiti Coast, approximately 60 km north of Wellington.
Operated under Kapiti Coast District Council’s freedom camping policy, this non-powered site allows a maximum 24‑hour stay for up to two self-contained vehicles. Facilities are basic but include nearby potable water, rubbish/recycling bins, and access to a café and public restroom facilities within walking distance.
