Description
Basic certified self-contained (CSC) campground just behind the dunes of Te Ārai Beach. Level grass and metaled ground under pohutukawa trees, providing an ideal overnight spot.

About
Located behind coastal dunes at Te Ārai Regional Park, northeast of Auckland in Rodney District, near Mangawhai. Entry via Te Ārai Point Road.
Operated by Auckland Council, Te Ārai Regional Park is home to endangered fairy terns, katepō spiders, dotterels, and regenerating forest.
Bookings are essential (up to six months ahead). Access via combination-code locked gate. Only vehicles with current SC certificates up to 8 m long allowed. Checkout and check-in at 11 am. Max occupancy of 10 vehicles with a 3 night stay limit. Adult fee $22 NZD per night.
