About
Located at the mouth of Opoutama Beach (Blue Bay) on the Mahia Peninsula, about 3.5 km north of Nuhaka off SH2. Accessible via Nuhaka, Opoutama Road with parking right by the beach.
Operated under Wairoa District Council rules, camping is limited to certified self-contained vehicles. First-come, first-served, with a maximum of 3 nights per stay and around 6–10 bays available. Facilities include flush toilets, cold showers, rubbish bins, and a public dump station. Campfires are prohibited.
